What Owners Have To Say About Partnering With Aldridge
Chad Hiatt
Aldridge's Chief Information Officer
It was time.
To grow to the next level would require significant investments in our business engine – marketing, sales, administration, HR. It would require additional discipline and scale in our processes, controls, training. At my core, I am about helping businesses and people get the most from technology; solving problems and helping my clients succeed – not administrative work. The marketplace was evolving rapidly, and the time cost to achieve ROI on internal growth just wouldn’t play out; so M&A became the path forward.
Many firms start thinking M&A when an owner or key stakeholder is looking to exit; I pursued it because I wanted to buy in to a ready-made, successful, scaled leadership and operations infrastructure. A team that would respect my client relationships, and deliver a higher level of service, reliability, and trust than I ever could at my scale.
Aldridge’s experience in M&A convinced me that they were the right group to acquire my business. My primary goal was to retain the value we had built; our experience building and maintaining our client relationships. I am pleased to say that we achievied my goal – we still support client organizations today that I have personal relationships with, back from when I had my original small-team shop. Those organizations are receiving higher value, expertise, reliability, security, and technology leadership from us and my evolved role within Aldridge than my original-scale team was able to provide directly.
I’ve been able to leverage my expertise and passion across many, many more organizations, helping them achieve their own individual goals and success – the whole reason I’ve always enjoyed working with leaders, businesses, and technology in the first place, helping people achieve more. Years from now, when I’m ready to hand over the reins to the people I’m mentoring – I’ll be confident even my first clients are being well-cared for, and I’ll look with gratitude to all the organizations and people I’ve been able to impact and grow beyond what I was able to do on my own.
